Handcrafted in Nashville, the Treeworks TRE35db Chime is a double-row, full-size classic chime with custom heat-tempered aluminum/titanium alloy bars. Its hand-finished mantle is made with premium kiln-dried Tennessee hardwood, and each bar is hand tied onto the mantle using TreeWorks' braided CordLoc cording. Using only custom-milled metal alloys, the TRE35db's bars have been polished to a brilliant finish and tuned by ear to deliver an ethereal tone. We find that one brush is all it takes to experience everything these chimes have to offer — a shimmering, long-lasting sustain with a wide dynamic range that blends beautifully in all musical settings.

You don't think about the quality of your chimes' cord until you find your bars at the bottom of your case (typically at an inopportune time). Thanks to TreeWorks' CordLoc cording, you won't have to worry about any nasty surprises. CordLoc employs a select composition of ultra-strong fibers that are braided and individually hand-knotted onto each bar. Every cord is locked and sealed for extreme durability. The cords are long enough to ensure that they don't strike the mantle. And each knot is tucked inside the bar's hole so it doesn't impede your tone. Never settle for plastic ties again!

Solid hardwood mantle looks and sounds excellent

The mantle — TreeWorks' name for the wooden frame — is crafted from solid Tennessee hardwood. The wood's color is intensified through a steaming process, which forces the heartwood's dark pigment to move throughout the board. Cut selections are then individually handpicked from rough, kiln-dried stock. The boards are cut and drilled, then sanded 16 times. Finally, a hand-rubbed oil finish is applied, resulting in a high-end, yet understated, appearance.

Heat-tempered bars deliver an ethereal shimmering tone

The bars are the essence of these chimes' sound, and TreeWorks knows it. That's why they don't paint, tint, dip, anodize, or plate them. Only high-quality custom-milled aluminum/titanium alloys are used. The alloy is T-6 tempered at 350° for eight hours for consistent grain structure, delivering a clear, distinctive sound. The bars are cut and precision drilled, then polished to minimize friction against the cord. Finally, the bars are individually tuned by ear, ensuring that they produce ideal tonal characteristics.
